Open Tracking: Should You Use It?

Understand why opens can be misleading and why replies matter more.

Open tracking usually adds a small remote image to an email. When it loads, the sending tool records an open. That does not necessarily mean the person read your message: privacy features and security scanners can load images automatically, while some readers block them.

Our recommendation for initial outreach

We recommend turning open and click tracking off for initial cold outreach. Use plain text without images or links in the first email, including links in the signature. Focus on genuine replies, positive interest and qualified conversations instead.

Track bounces and opt-outs too. Do not treat an open as permission to send more messages or assume low opens identify a subject-line problem by themselves.

Custom tracking domains are not supported on sending.ac-managed domains. Do not add tracking DNS records by following another tool's generic guide. If tracking is required for your workflow, ask support to review your setup first.
