A cold email should be easy to understand in one quick read. There is no word count that guarantees a good response.
A useful structure
- One relevant opening.
- One clear benefit or idea.
- One easy question.
Remove lengthy introductions, repeated claims, feature lists and unnecessary background. Use short paragraphs and plain language. An important condition or limitation is worth keeping even when you are shortening the message.
If the offer needs more explanation, ask whether the recipient would like a short resource instead of putting the whole sales presentation in the first email.
Preview the message on mobile and check that it still makes sense without images, tracking or attachments.
