What is DMARC?

Learn how DMARC relates to SPF, DKIM and your managed DNS setup.

DMARC is a DNS policy that helps receiving systems decide what to do when an email does not authenticate in alignment with its visible sender domain. It works with SPF and DKIM and can also request reports about authentication results.

What it means for sending.ac customers

We configure the email authentication setup for connected domains. Do not follow a generic tutorial to change a managed domain's DMARC policy yourself: the right records depend on the domain's actual setup.

If your sequencer reports a missing or duplicate DMARC record, contact support with the domain and exact message. Do not add another record to try to fix it.

A missing report or an untested dashboard field does not automatically mean that all mail is failing. Authentication and delivery should be reviewed together.

DMARC helps protect sender identity. It does not guarantee that a relevant, authenticated message will land in every recipient's inbox.
