SPF and DKIM are email authentication methods that help receiving systems check a message's source.
- SPF lists the systems authorised to send mail for a domain.
- DKIM adds a digital signature that can be checked using the domain's public DNS record.
- DMARC checks whether authentication aligns with the visible sender domain and publishes a policy for failures.
Your sending.ac setup
We configure the email authentication records for domains connected to sending.ac. You do not need to copy generic Google or Microsoft examples into those domains yourself.
Do not add a second SPF record, replace DKIM records, or change nameservers after setup without coordinating with support. Authentication records must match the actual service sending your email.
If a check fails
Share the domain, the exact message and when you first noticed it with support. On a newly configured domain, DKIM can take about an hour to activate; a continuing failure needs a review.
Passing authentication is necessary for a sound setup, but it does not guarantee inbox placement.
