You can connect a domain registered elsewhere without transferring it to sending.ac. The standard connection changes its nameservers so we can manage the email DNS setup.
Connect a domain
- In Domains, add the domain and choose the mailbox count.
- Copy both nameservers shown next to that domain.
- At your registrar, replace the existing nameservers with those two values.
- Wait for verification and automatic setup. Nameserver changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
Use the values shown for your own domain; do not copy nameservers from an example or another account.
Important checks
Changing nameservers affects the whole domain, not just email. If it hosts a live website, subdomains or another email service, contact support before switching so the existing records can be reviewed.
Domains registered at Cloudflare cannot use the standard nameserver-change flow. Ask support about a transfer or another domain before purchasing one there for this setup.
If the domain is still attached to a previous Microsoft 365 provider, that provider must release it before it can be connected. After setup, do not change nameservers again without support's guidance.
